Edward A Lewis, M.D.
Dr. Lewis is a board-certified pain physician and anesthesiologist. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he also completed his residency in anesthesiology. He developed a desire to help pain patients early in his career. Over his 28 year career he has served as medical director of several pain clinics and served on hospital boards in Texas and North Carolina. Dr. Lewis brings a wide range of experience with interventional treatment of all forms of acute and chronic pain. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Neuromodulation Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Lewis likes to spend his free time with his family and friends. His interests are snow skiing, hiking, gardening, traveling, and watching the Discovery Channel. He is a lifetime learner. An interesting fact about Dr. Lewis is that he has been on the Oprah show!
Leland Berkwits, MD, MS
Dr. Berkwits is board-certified in pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation. After practicing physical medicine and rehabilitation for 13 years, he completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Prior to entering medical school he received a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has always been interested in the application of new technology to treat medical conditions, and incorporates a systems approach to the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions. His training in physical medicine and rehabilitation provides a deep understanding of painful neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Berkwits served as co-editor of the medical text, Atlas of Image Guided Spinal Procedures, published in 2013, and has both authored and co-authored chapters in this text. He is a member of several professional organizations including the International Spinal Intervention Society, North American Spine Society and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Dr. Berkwits likes to spend his free time with his wife and friends enjoying the beautiful scenery of Western North Carolina. His interests include hiking, attempting to master playing piano, organic vegetable gardening, reading and travelling. An interesting fact about Dr. Berkwits is that he won a high school science fair in 1974 having presented a design for an electronic medical record.
Eric Roslonski, DO
Dr. Roslonski grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and attended St. Vincent College where he majored in biology. He is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Neuromuscular Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Roslonski completed an Osteopathic internship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Mckeesport Hospital. He then completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Indiana University School of Medicine followed by a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine.
Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Dr. Roslonski practiced outpatient Pain Management for a health system in southwestern Pennsylvania for over 11 years where he served as director of the institute’s Spine Clinic. He has a special interest in diagnosing and treating painful neuromuscular and spinal conditions. As a physiatrist and osteopathic physician, Dr. Roslonski focuses on treating the “whole person” in addition to the underlying disease state. He encourages each patient to take an active role in their health and treatment plan. His treatment goals are to focus on each case individually, and to improve function, well-being, and overall quality of life.
Dr. Roslonski is a member of the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, and a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Roslonski has twin boys and enjoys travelling with his sons and wife visiting friends and family. The variety of outdoor activities located throughout Western North Carolina attracted Dr. Roslonski and his family to the region. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, and shooting sports. Dr. Roslonski attended St. Vincent College on a basketball scholarship and scored over 2000 points in his high school career.
Lawrence Cull, Jr., Psy. D.
Dr. Cull is a clinical psychologist and received his doctoral degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. He completed his Internship at the Chicago Department of Public Health and his Fellowship at Michael Reese Hospital. He began working as a health psychologist early in his career, and has worked with people struggling with various kinds of health concerns.
Dr. Cull served as the Director of Behavioral Medicine at a nationally known inpatient pain treatment program for nearly a decade. He has also spent much of his career teaching and supervising psychology graduate students. He has been an assistant professor in a doctoral psychology program teaching, among other subjects, such as Behavioral Medicine and Primary Care Psychology. In addition, Dr. Cull has been in a private practice in Chicago for nearly 15 years, and has presented nationally about psychological strategies to address chronic pain. He is currently conducting research on mindfulness abilities, acceptance traits, and headache intensity. Using a variety of psychological and behavioral strategies, he is a compassionate person-centered psychologist who works with people to find what best meets their goals.
Dr. Cull likes to spend his free time with his wife, two young daughters, and his friends. He is an avid cyclist and runner, and enjoys the outdoors. Dr. Cull loves the fields of psychology, performance-enhancement, and personal growth. He uses many of the performance improvement skills like relaxation, mindfulness, and biofeedback on himself to get through the discomfort of marathon running and long-distance triathlon competitions.
Jessica Sekelski, PA-C
Jessica Sekelski is a board-certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at King’s College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, graduating with her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2012. Following graduation, Jessica relocated to North Carolina which has always felt like home to her. Her approach to caring for patients is providing them with the proper knowledge and resources to have them best manage their health. She also encourages them to stay positive throughout their journey.
Even though Jessica grew up in Pennsylvania, she enjoys watching NASCAR and listening to country music. In her free time, Jessica likes to hike with her dog and is also passionate about CrossFit. An interesting fact about Jessica is she has met 7 NASCAR drivers.
E. Alycia Moore, PA-C
Alycia Moore is a board-certified Physician Assistant. Alycia is originally from Ormond Beach, Florida, and attended University of South Florida where she graduated with a BS in Psychology. She then attended Medical University of South Carolina where she completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina in 2013 and has worked throughout Western North Carolina providing care in both urban and rural environments.
Alycia’s background in Psychology and her innate compassion make her an exceptional provider for those suffering from chronic pain. Alycia’s dedication to holistic care helps provide patients with a complete and comprehensive treatment plan.
Alycia is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have one son and a dog. Alycia loves hiking, boating and traveling. Alycia writes novellas and poetry and won a writing award in college.
Megan Scarborough, FNP-BC
Megan Scarborough is a board-certified nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She received her Associates in Nursing through Foothills Nursing Consortium, Bachelors in Nursing through Winston Salem State University and Masters for a Family Nurse Practitioner through East Carolina University. She has a broad nursing career which includes experience in emergency medicine, ICU and home health, but has been in pain management since 2010.
Megan was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, mainly grew up in Texas and relocated to North Carolina in 2003. Her approach to caring for patients is a holistic one with the goal of helping them become more functional, heathier and overall achieve a better quality of life.
Megan is married with two children and three step-children. She loves music, traveling, exercise, and kayaking. An interesting fact is that she was able to be a part of the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show in Ketchikan, Alaska when she was 19.
Todd Lipphardt, PA-C
Todd Lipphardt is a board-certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission of Physician Assistants. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio and his Physician Assistant degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts, in 1988. Attracted by the beautiful mountains and scenery, he moved from Michigan to North Carolina in 2015. His approach to caring for patients is to provide them with the knowledge and resources that will help them best manage their health.
Todd spends as much of his free time, as he can, with his wife. Their 3 children are now adults and out in the real world, but he still sees them as often as possible. He enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. He’s also actively involved in community theater and enjoys taxidermy.
Michael Dana, PA-C
Mike Dana is a board-certified Physician Assistant originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania. After serving nine years honorably in the United States Air Force, Mike received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from King’s College.
Mike’s background is in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, which makes him an excellent addition to the team. Mike’s clinical background and military experiences only strengthen the empathy and compassion with those who suffer from chronic pain. He encourages patients to take an active role in their health to maximize total balance in their physical, mental and emotional wellness.
Mike enjoys playing sports, spending time outdoors, traveling and living a healthy lifestyle.
Jenny Rutledge, CRNA, MSN, Advisor and Strategic Consultant
Jenny has both a healthcare business background and clinical background. As such, Jenny understands that putting patients first is always priority #1 in building and maintaining a successful practice. She has held Director of Business Development positions with two Fortune 500 companies and has been practicing anesthesia since 2006. Jenny also started a publishing company where she published specialty healthcare magazines. Her experience and expertise aid us in improving our daily operations while growing our practice in scope, service and size.
In 2013 she suffered a mild traumatic brain injury. The experience led her to the desire to further help individuals who suffer from chronic illness. She helps us stay focused on assisting our patients to achieve optimal conditions for a balanced life and reach their maximum potential. An interesting fact about Jenny is that she volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America where she mentors a very special young girl.
